Well, it basically means using artificial intelligence technologies like learning management systems, brain-computer interfaces, machine learning platforms, etc., in order to enhance learning processes and increase the thinking capabilities of students without substituting actual teaching sessions with these technologies so as not to turn our kids into robots who lose their thinking capabilities.

The thing is, right now, there is just this enormous divide in public perceptions about AI. Some people just think it is this cheating device, something that enables cheating students to just not do the work to learn something. Other people see it more as this incredible thinking partner that would allow the kid to consider ideas that they hadn't even thought of. And to be honest, that just seems like worlds apart.

It is here that the Human-AI-Human framework—or H-AI-H, since we’re in the business of acronyms in the world of education—comes in. It is simple enough: kids begin with their own questions, answer them with the help of AI tools, and then integrate the information through reflection. It is this: the kid is always driving the car. The GPS is just suggesting routes.

The H-AI-H Framework: Keeping Humans at the Center

So, well, let’s actually discuss what this “Human-AI-Human framework thingy” means. It consists of three stages, and both Washington OSPI and Wisconsin DPI love it, so you know it’s true and not, say, some guy on the internet’s brainstorm.
